Dick Barnes
Dick has lived in Maine since 1970, having moved here for the same reasons that so many others have-he was attracted to the quality of life and the close relationship that Mainers have had to land and to the natural environment. He has lived on an island in the Midcoast, in a small town in central Maine, and, since 1992, in the Kennebunks. Most of his career in Maine has been as an educator, having served as a teacher, a superintendent of schools, and as a professor and Dean of the College of Education at the University of Southern Maine. He has also served on and been chair of a half-dozen non-profit boards, including Old York Historical Society and the Maine Humanities Council. Having been a long time supporter of land conservation both here and in the Midcoast, Dick is pleased to assume a more active role in support of the KLT, and he currently serves as Board Treasurer. |
